Placemats

Avy was born in Morocco where modern life effortlessly combines with ancient culture. His early love of painting with oils and pastels, sketching with charcoal, creating ceramic sculptures, and Tiffany's Lamps, led him to formal art training at Betsalel Art School in Jerusalem. Avy completed his higher education degree at Ecole Corvisar in Paris, where he studied letter design and calligraphy. His talent for art and education credentials led him to serve as creative director for a Parisian advertising agency for more than 10 years. In 2000 Avy decided to concentrate on his art and moved to Bonaire, where he paints modern African works, aroused by memories of his boyhood home. In Bonaire, his lifelong dreams were realized when he opened the Cinnamon Art Gallery, in partnership with other talented artists. Since 2006 Avy makes placemats with different designs, especially for KonTiki. One placemat can be bought for $ 33.- and a set of 4 placemats is $ 125.- To see more of Avy's art take a look at:

Herman Brood

Since June 2006 we are the proud host of a
"Brood - painting" of 2 by 3.5 meter (7 by 12 foot).
Herman Brood (1946 - 2001) was a Dutch musician,
painter and media personality.
Although Herman was known outside of The Netherlands
mostly among music fans, in his homeland he was primarily known and loved for his contributions to public art,
particularly for creating murals in various public spaces
around Amsterdam.
Most art critics have difficulty trying to describe his unique
style, but his murals are considered by many to be a valuable cultural contribution to the Dutch capital.
The work of Herman Brood continues to have a significant impact on new generations of Dutch street and public artists.
